What is Informed Visibility®?

Informed Visibility® provides more insight into the movement of individual mailpieces through the mail stream. USPS carriers have been equipped with GPS enabled devices that trigger events when they enter geofence locations. This means that although individual pieces of mail aren't scanned as they're placed in the mailbox, we can tell that a piece made it from the USPS Business Mail Entry Unit, to the delivery USPS office and into the carrier's "mailbag". We can also tell when that mailbag has entered the destination geo location with that mail, at which point, a piece's status is updated to reflect that "USPS Indicated Delivery".
